WSP USA Inc. (WSP) is seeking a **Senior** **Resident Engineer** to join our Construction Services Group in the **Southern California Area** inspection activities, among other responsibilities. Projects may span multiple disciplines, such as roadway/highway, transit/rail, levee construction, and others.


# Job Summary:


Act as the Senior Resident Engineer on a construction project. Most likely directing highly complex and specialized construction engineering, administration, and inspection program as related to heavy civil projects.


# The Senior Resident Engineer Duties and Responsibilities:


+ Plans, reviews and assigns work of subordinate field or construction field office personnel

+ Reviews construction processes and engineering layouts

+ Reviews project activities with client and contractor's field supervision resolving disputes and other daily issues

+ Oversees materials testing activities

+ Reviews daily inspection reports and other project documentation

+ Attends and may lead construction meetings with client and contractors

+ Other duties as assigned

# Job Requirements


**Qualifications Required:**

+ Bachelor's degree in engineering-related field (e.g. Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, etc.)

+ A minimum of 10-15 years of directly relevant experience, including Resident Engineer or related roles (or equivalent working knowledge/experience).

+ Professional Engineer (PE)

+ A demonstrated ability to read and completely understand contract documents

+ A working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materials (e.g. Caltrans)

+ Effective oral and written communication skills

+ Valid, current California Driver's license


# Preferred Qualifications:


+ Inspection Certifications (e.g. NICET, ACI, etc.)

+ Bridge construction inspection experience

+ Transit/Rail project experience

+ CalTrans experience
